Gerakas Beach
Gerakas is a huge sandy beach on the southeast tip of Zakynthos (Zante) island. It’s just 16km from the capital which is around a 25-minute drive.
The stunning bay of Gerakas is an unspoiled section of the coast that’s the perfect spot for a tranquil break away from the more tourist-heavy beaches on the island. It’s relatively free from commercialization with a few sunbeds available to rent, no water sports, no taverna, and no music.
If you need refreshments then you’ll have to either bring them with you or make the short trip back up the path towards the car park where you’ll find a mini-market and a couple of tavernas.
